Critical Mass – Cycles of Change #6

Product Information

When the foundation of the new thought structure has built up to a critical mass, the new structure of reality can now take over.  At the point of critical mass, the old structure is being replaced by the new.  During this process, there is the experience of death, darkness, despair and or depression.  The old is being experienced for the final time as it leaves your body.

As Larry Dossey states, “Life as we know it demands disease; it is unthinkable without it. disease becomes more than a blackish prelude to death. it becomes the harbinger of life.”

This point of critical mass and destruction is the dark, fearful stage of the process of change.  Even though the old structure of reality is no longer useful or wanted, it is trusted, known and safe according to the mind.  For example, if you have always been sick, you know what reality is like when sick.  You know how to cope while sick.  The fear of giving up the sickness is very deep and real.  Sickness has been an intimate friend for so long that it is terrifying to consider existence without it.  You do not want to be sick any more, but the deep-seated fear of the unknown is extremely threatening.  To threaten the skeleton of our minds, egos and ways of being is a threat of death.  Since you have not experienced life completely from the new structure of reality, the leap into the unknown is masked by fear.

You feel totally alone, abandoned and barren.  The feelings of being scared, dark, afraid, permeate down to the quick of the soul.  In order to break through this darkness, the groundwork of the new structure of reality needs to be filled with gratitude.  In that way the inner fortitude to face the fear, darkness, and death can break through to a new level.

An analogy can be made between the darkness and despair of the critical mass stage to the passage through the birth canal.  The new idea has to develop sufficient power, energy and mass to reach a critical mass so that the new idea can break through the old.  Just as the baby is now ready to experience a new layer of reality outside the womb, the new idea is ready to come forward.  The birth of the baby or a new idea goes through this stage of critical mass or the birth canal.  When in this stage, the ray of light, the ray of hope of the new idea is lost.  This feeling can be momentary, it can come and go, or it can last over a period of time.

Fear can arrest the process at this stage or help to keep you stuck. Once this fear is thanked, the energy or momentum of the fear can assist in breaking through to the next level.

An important physiological truth is that a condition of strain, the result of stress, is a direct stimulus to growth itself.  The stress of facing the dark, the death of the old is a necessary prerequisite to growth.  The stress or darkness can also be perceived as chaos.

This phase of the death of the old can be related to the theory of dissipative structures; only through perturbation can the system escape to a higher order of complexity.  Order can arise from chaos.  The key to growth is openness and fragility.  Mild disturbances are assimilated into the system while major ones are not.  Major disturbances create the possibility of stimulating a sudden change toward a more complex, more highly evolved system. Using gratitude during this entire process helps to release the old and welcome the new. The fear is there to assist in this stage of change.

As change occurs, there are times when substantial emotional blocks are delved into.  This process of looking at, uncovering and shedding light into these dark areas of the psyche can lead to your body releasing old toxins, which may look like an illness.  When aware of this process, understanding, compassion, proper diet, exercise, and good care can lead to greater results and permanent changes within the body structure.  Gratitude for your body and the process helps to move you into the next stage. Once this emotion, trauma and/or disease is released, new levels of joy, integration and calmness can be experienced.

As blocks are removed on the cellular level, the space is opened up for new thoughts.  New thoughts transform the cellular level and assist in the removal of toxins.  Negative thoughts can be equated to toxins in the body.

Thus, on all levels death is present.  The fear of death and annihilation can keep you from going forward and from experiencing freedom. Facing the fear of experiencing psychological/physical death with gratitude, ultimately leads towards greater life. Denial or refusing to face your inner fears can lead towards a quicker death.

The fear, doubt and death have now been faced, filled with gratitude, and gone beyond.  The energy within the cells is being transformed so the breakthrough to the new can now occur.
